The Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of NOVA University of Lisbon, member of CUGH, organizes and hosts the 5th National Congress of Tropical Medicine (5NCTM) that take place from 10 to 12 April, 2019 in Lisbon, with the high patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic. On 9 April pre-congress courses and seminars will also be held at IHMT.
The 5CNMT is a biennial event that brings scientists and experts from the Member States of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), Europe and all over the world, being the most important congress on global health and tropical medicine held in Portugal.
The 2019 edition has as its main goal establishing a platform to discuss health policy and health systems issues from the perspective of achieving Universal Health Coverage in the Member States of the CPLP. The themes under debate include: health sector regulation; strategic health planning; the complexity associated with planning, training, placement and retention of the health workforce; the health needs of migrants; as well as the growing role of ICT in health service systems.
