The intervention of the Association of Alumni and Friends of the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (AAAIHMT) aims to mobilize IHMT’s students, alumni and friends and motivate them to engage in scientific activities, research and culture activities, as well as promoting actions of solidarity and cooperation related to tropical health problems and health research.
The AAAIHMT aims to contribute to preserving the matrix lines of the essence of IHMT and disseminate them among all CPLP countries, involving students and friends and at the same time contributing to the development of friendly and cooperative ties between people, institutions and countries.
To achieve this goal, the Association may in particular:
a) encourage and develop solidarity and coexistence among students and friends and similar institutions to IHMT of various countries, with common professional, social or cultural interests;
b) contribute to support the academic and training activities;
c) organize, participate, support and disseminate technical and scientific, cultural, social, civic and leisure events;
d) promote scientific, academic and cultural events and disseminate information to assist in the proposed objectives;
e) promote the creation of centers in several countries and to establish close cooperation agreements and joint activities;
f) promote applications for internal or external funding for the development of projects.
