The Specialization Course in Public Health is an intensive course that responds to the training needs of the internship, with the same name, foreseen for in the Program of the Medical Internship of Public Health. According to “Portaria n.º 141/2014, de 8 de julho, do Ministério da Saúde,“, the Medical Internship of Public Health is a specific medical training process, which confers the degree of Public Health Specialist to the doctor, after obtaining approval.
In an international student environment with an interdisciplinary teaching team, this initiative reinforces the profile of the IHMT as a pioneering academic institution in the teaching of public health in Portugal and for the Member States of the CPLP.

Improve knowledge and develop fundamental skills for the future exercise in public health.

Doctors of the Medical Internship of Public Health of Portugal
Other target Audience
Through protocols with the Medical Associations of other Lusophone countries it is expected that the Specialization Course in Public Health may be attended by doctors from other countries, namely the Portuguese-speaking countries. Classroom Schedule
The Specialization Course in Public Health has a duration of 12 months. It works, according to the Medical Internship regime, on a full-time basis (40 hours / week), from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 6pm. The distribution of academic and non-academic times is included in the course schedule.
