He was Strategic Adviser to the Regional Director, WHO Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen until 2013; has extensive experience in operational research, health policy, information and evidence, health threats, as well as strategic planning and coordination, at national and international level; previous positions held include WHO Liaison and Adviser to the Director, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm; WHO Representative/Head of Office in Uzbekistan and WHO/Europe Regional Adviser, Health Information and Evidence. Prior to joining WHO, he worked in the Department of Health, England in various policy divisions and in the Operational Research Unit of the Department in London.
