The Unit of Medical Parasitology of IHMT coordinator, Paulo Almeida, is the co-editor of an e-book dedicated to the theme of the impact of emerging zoonoses on public health, published by the open access publishing “Frontiers in Public Health”.
It should be noted that about 75% of emerging infectious diseases affecting humans have origin in animals, insects, particularly mosquitoes, are the vectors with greater impact on disease transmission.
