Gonçalo Seixas has a B.Sc degree in Clinical analysis and Public Health from Universidade Atlântida (Barcarena, Portugal) since 2009. In 2012, he obtained the M.sC degree of Medical Parasitology at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (Lisbon, Portugal), focusing his research in the invasive species Aedes aegypti of Madeira Island, in Carla Sousa group. His experience, gained during this period, resulted in a successful application for an individual Ph.D fellowship from FCT, obtained in 2013, where GS studies, in collaboration with Institut Pasteur (Paris) and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Liverpool, England), the vector competence, population genetics and insecticide resistance of the same species, under the guidance of Professor Carla Sousa and Professor João Pinto.
