She got her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2016, from Rega Institute, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium. From 2012 to 2016, she was an assistant teacher in practical sessions of Applied Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology for the Master of Biomedical Sciences at KU Leuven. Between 2008 and 2010, she was a research fellow at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT), where she also concluded the Master of Biomedical Sciences (2011). In 2009, she got a degree (B.Sc.) in Cellular and Molecular Biology, from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (FCT), Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
