The Council of IHMT is a body that defines the strategic orientations and monitors the general policy of the Institute. It is responsible for appointing the Director, to appreciate his/her performance and the performance of IHMT’s Management Board, and also to audit the management of IHMT.
Under the Director’s proposal, the Council must also approve the action plan for the Director’s four-year term of office, as well as the annual activity plan, the budget proposal and annual financial report. It’s members include 15 doctorates of IHMT, a student representative and five national and foreign persons external to the UNL and linked to research, education, medical assistance and cooperation, especially with the member states of the CPLP.
