The IHMT NOVA promotes the Seminar “Working with the SDG’s”, which will be held on June 29 at 2.30 pm in the Fraga de Azevedo Room at the IHMT NOVA and will be presented by Annemiek van Bolhuis, Director of Public Health and Health Services in RIVM (Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment).
Originally trained as a nurse and political scientist, followed by an MBA, Annemiek van Bolhuis has over 20 years’ experience in (international) public service. Annemiek van Bolhuis started her career as a socio-therapist and team leader at the Jellinek, the Institute for addiction care in Amsterdam. The next step was a position as a programme officer for the UN Drug Programme (UNODC) in the Caribbean for a number of years. Later she assumed several positions at the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport: Coordinator for International Drug Policy; Director of Nutrition, Health Protection and Prevention; and Deputy Director General Health and Sport. She was Director of International Affairs in 2002, with the Dutch EU Presidency (2002) as the main task. Before joining the RIVM, she was on a 3-year secondment to the Headquarters of the World Health Organization as a Strategic Advisor.
