The proposed interaction mechanism results from combined biophysical data from thermal denaturation, CD, rheometry, AFM and QTof-ESI-MS. DNA saturation occurs for copper at about half the concentration of zinc, apparently due to the increased ability of Cu(II) to distort to a more planar structure.
